Had a letter from Vado administration about a scam investment made over 10 years ago. Good job I checked. The letter is going into the bin.

Thanks for this - but please don't throw the letter in the bin. Do not reply to it, but please keep it and report Vado Administration to Action Fraud.

Retrieved the letter and will be sending it to Action Fraud. Not sure if they’ll do anything. What amazes is how do these charlatans get to set up companies.

Make sure you keep a copy!

I think it's quite possible that the original Vado Administration and Startplant Services are legitimate companies. They were incorporated in 2011 and 1993. The scammers are using the names of the companies and have created fake websites using the companies' names.

But it is remarkably easy to set up a company in the UK. Companies House doesn't run checks before allowing people to incorporate a company. In September 2021, the Financial Times reported on a company director called Holy Jesus Christ. He gave his address as Heaven, his nationality as Angelic, and his occupation as Creator. The company's name? Weight a Minute.

On 8 April 2025, Companies House launched a new identity verification system. At the moment it's voluntary, but at some point, probably later this year company directors will have to verify their identity.

Very likely as the letter I had had many grammatical mistakes.

Great advice! And, when answering a phone call from ANY unknown person, NEVER say the word "Yes" since that will be recorded and used by some seller as approval for their scam. Greed has reached such levels that the scammers not only sell worthless carbon credits, they will take every opportunity to strip you of any savings. In the old days, only govt could do that.
