Thank you, Chris, great presentation! The core of the issue is "to limit CDR use for counterbalancing truly residual emissions - not offsetting current fossil fuel emissions." But politicians will grab at any and every little gimmick instead of doing the heavy-lifting of actually reducing emissions. Because, the population expects government to magically achieve climate targets in order that they may continue with life as "normal," without having any sacrifices such as no more travel or flying, reduce rich country's energy consumption to world average, etc., etc. This magical thinking is OVER.
